It has been a wonderful journey
I have always had an immense passion for music, born in the early seventies I was lucky enough to grow up during a fascinating and diverse musical era. As a youngster I had a huge love for Abba (I still remember being bought my first Abba LP - Super Trouper) and the fascinating story behind Benny and Bjorn and still do today. Look no further than the score for the West End Musical CHESS . . absolute musical genius.
I had a huge love for music of all varieties at school and became highly proficient on both piano and flute. Since then I built my own recording studio at home and taught myself the basics of sound engineering. Later on I became involved in a professional music studio and was responsible for writing recording and producing Chiltern FM's very own Christmas single in 2006 (a great experience).
I have a huge love for people and also customer care and this combined with my love for music has stood me in very good stead in the entertainment industry. When speaking to prospective clients it still amazes me as to just how many people in this industry have a complete lack of respect in this regard. I still to this day hear of instances where DJ's refuse to take song requests, and also have many occasions where prospective clients seem surprised when I say that this IS something I facilitate! Entertainment is a people industry and people need to be looked after. There is nothing better than at the end of an evening if just one person comes up to me and says that they have had a good night. The diversity I encounter is amazing and a great way to learn about some of the more obscure genres. Garage, Drum & Bass, Jazz, Classical, Swing, Soul & Groove, Dance, Hip-Hop, Electro, I love it all.
Music is wonderful and provides so much to everybody in completely different ways.
What I love the most about entertainment is that every night is different. I meet the most wonderfully diverse range of people all with new and interesting musical stories to tell.
